At the Last Supper, Jesus instituted the Holy Mass, but first He commanded others to make the necessary preparations. The Sacristan Ministry is charged with preparing the altar for all liturgical celebrations.
Purpose: To prepare the altar for all liturgical celebrations by setting out the bread, wine, chalices, Gospel, scripture readings, and all items needed for the Mass.
Responsibilities: Setting up the altar for Mass on a rotating schedule.

Time Commitment: Twenty minutes before and after Mass, possibly twice a month.
